On February 21–22, 2024, Skills for Change hosted its third annual Together Against Violence Symposium, with this year’s theme: “Rising Up Against Gender Inequality.” The event served as a powerful platform to shed light on the ongoing crisis of gender-based violence (GBV) in Canada, highlighting its devastating effects on victims, survivors, and their families.

Building on the success of the previous symposium in 2023, which brought together over 300 attendees and 10+ community partners, the 2024 virtual gathering continued to expand the conversation with workshops, panel discussions, and expert-led sessions focused on GBV awareness, prevention, and systemic change.

The symposium welcomed leading voices in the GBV sector to share knowledge, strategies, and lived experiences. These conversations fostered collective learning, cross-sector collaboration, and inspired action among service providers, frontline workers, advocates, and community members.
