Spotlight Series: Women’s Leadership and Empowerment – Breaking Barriers, Building Legacies

As part of its ongoing Spotlight Series, Skills for Change hosted a dynamic virtual session on March 18, 2025, titled “Women’s Leadership and Empowerment – Breaking Barriers, Building Legacies.” The event brought together over 180 registrants, with 82 joining live, for a powerful dialogue on the systemic barriers that continue to impact women’s access to leadership and advancement opportunities—especially for those from racialized, immigrant, and LGBTQ2S+ communities.

The panel highlighted the importance of intersectionality, inclusive workplace practices, economic empowerment, and sustained allyship in creating environments where women not only lead, but thrive. Panelists shared personal stories and professional insights, offering tangible solutions for organizations, policymakers, and allies committed to gender equity.
