Diverse Women of Canada (2021)

The Diverse Women of Canada: Stories of Resilience event was a powerful celebration of the resilience of racialized newcomer, immigrant, and refugee women in Canada. Organized by Skills for Change and supported by the Government of Canada, the event brought together 20 women from diverse backgrounds to share their remarkable journeys and discuss critical themes such as empowerment, leadership, equality, employment, education, entrepreneurship, and mental health & well-being.
The event provided a safe and reliable knowledge-sharing platform, allowing women to share their authentic experiences, voice challenges unique to racialized women, and foster a sense of community. Participants engaged in discussions on systemic bias, racism, microaggressions in the workplace, discrimination, and related inequalities, while also exploring innovative solutions to these issues.
Beyond discussions, the event served as a catalyst for solidarity and change, offering opportunities to reshape narratives and advocate for a fairer, more inclusive, and equitable society. It successfully reinforced the importance of diversity, inclusion, and resilience in Canada’s evolving social landscape.
