A virtual discussion highlighting “Progress and Pitfalls: Anti-Black Racism in the Workplace Since 2020.

Skills for Change hosted Gender Equity and Intersectional Challenges, a powerful panel event dedicated to addressing the systemic barriers faced by Black women, trans, and nonbinary individuals in Canada. The event focused on the intersecting impacts of racism, gender-based discrimination, economic inequality, and underrepresentation in leadership and decision-making spaces.

This timely and thought-provoking conversation explored critical topics such as:

  • Workplace discrimination and bias
  • Wage gaps and economic exclusion
  • Barriers to leadership and advancement
  • Gender-based violence and lack of culturally responsive supports
  • The importance of sustained equity-focused policies and practices

The panel was moderated by Surranna Sandy, CEO of Skills for Change, and featured a distinguished lineup of speakers who brought lived experience, research, and advocacy expertise to the discussion:
