A program empowering women in skilled trades in Nova Scotia.
On June 4, 2024, Skills for Change, in collaboration with Inspiring Community, hosted the WIST – Nova Scotia Event, a hybrid gathering designed to highlight the skilled trades sector in Nova Scotia. The event was held at the Glace Bay Miners Forum in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, and was accessible to both in-person and virtual attendees, offering a broad platform for industry professionals, exhibitors, and job seekers.

The event was aimed at creating valuable connections, providing career exploration opportunities, and fostering knowledge exchange in the skilled trades industry. Participants engaged in a range of interactive activities, including exhibitions, discussions, and networking sessions. The event’s focus was on empowering individuals with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in skilled trades.
